"You pay" is our price for the cheapest size in stock, with the size in brackets. "Boutique price" is the price we compare it with. EDP means eau de parfum. The Style column sums up each perfume's notes. It is not a wear test.
Boxed or tester for a gift
For a gift, buy the boxed bottle. It comes in the brand's retail box, so it looks like a present when it is unwrapped. Every pick on this page is a boxed bottle.
Some perfumes also come as a tester. A tester is the same perfume in the brand's own tester box, new, unused and unsprayed. It costs less, but the box is the tester box, not the retail box. A tester suits buying for yourself, and we suggest boxed for a gift. The full difference is in tester vs boxed perfume.
How we picked
We chose well-known perfumes that are in stock today, across three budgets, and mixed niche and designer houses. We have not ranked them. The notes come from each product page, and every pick was available to order on 12 October 2026. Prices are for the cheapest size in stock, and AZ & CO sells each one below the boutique price.
Under AED 500
Four bottles under AED 500, each in the brand's retail box.
1 Million by Paco Rabanne
Blood mandarin, grapefruit and mint open it, so the first spray is juicy and cool. Cinnamon, spice and rose follow, on amber, leather and Indian patchouli. It is an Eau de Toilette from 2008, sweet and spicy, and our description suggests cooler evenings and nights out.
Skip it if you want a quiet scent. It has a loud, confident personality.
Eros Flame by Versace
Orange, lemon and rosewood open it. Black pepper, rosemary and rose follow, on sandalwood, coffee, amber and vetiver. It is an Eau de Parfum with a warm, spicy mood, and our description suggests evenings, dates and cooler weather.
Skip it if you want something fresh and light. The pepper and coffee make it dark.
Jazz Club by Maison Margiela Replica
Pink pepper, lemon and neroli open it. Rum, clary sage and Java vetiver follow, on styrax, tobacco leaf and vanilla bean. Alienor Massenet composed it for the Replica line, and it launched in 2013. Its theme is a late night at a Brooklyn jazz bar. It is an Eau de Toilette.
Skip it if you do not like boozy or smoky scents.
Colognise by Nishane
Bergamot, lemon, neroli and grapefruit open it. Lavender, petitgrain and geranium follow, on amber, sandalwood, musk and vetiver. It reworks the classic cologne with more depth, and our description suggests daytime, work and warm weather.
Skip it if you want warmth or sweetness. This is clean citrus and herbs.
AED 500 to 1,000
Four bottles from AED 500 to AED 1,000, each in the brand's retail box.
Ombré Leather by Tom Ford
Sonia Constant created it in 2018. Cardamom opens, then soft black leather with jasmine, on patchouli, white moss and amber. The leather is supple, closer to a worn-in jacket than a saddle. The AED 500 price is for the 50ml Eau de Parfum. The 100ml is AED 640.
Skip it if you do not like leather. The mood is relaxed and a little rugged.
Homme Intense by Dior
Lavender opens it. Iris takes over in the heart, soft and powdery, with ambrette and pear, on Virginia cedar and vetiver. It is an Eau de Parfum with a calm, tailored mood, and our description suggests evenings, cooler weather and the office.
Skip it if you do not like powdery scents. Iris is the star.
Hacivat by Nishane
Bergamot, pineapple and grapefruit open it. Jasmine, patchouli and cedarwood follow, then oakmoss and dry woods. It is a fruity chypre that stays crisp rather than sweet, and it suits men and women. It is an extrait, so our description says a few sprays are usually enough.
Skip it if you want something sweet or cosy. It stays dry.
Layton by Parfums de Marly
Apple, bergamot and cardamom open it. Lavender, violet and geranium follow, on patchouli, vanilla, guaiac wood and praline. Hamid Merati-Kashani composed it, and the house released it in 2016. The AED 710 price is for the 75ml. The 125ml is AED 840.
Skip it if you do not like a creamy, sweet base.
AED 1,000 and up
Every bottle here is AED 1,000 or more, so delivery is free.
Interlude Man by Amouage
Pierre Negrin composed it in 2012. Bergamot, oregano and pimento berry open it. Frankincense, opoponax, cistus and amber follow, on leather, agarwood smoke, patchouli and sandalwood. The mood is intense and smoky, and our description suggests winter evenings and formal events.
Skip it if you do not like smoke or incense. Start with a single spray.
Black Phantom by Kilian
A unisex woody gourmand. Rum opens it, then dark chocolate, coffee, almond and heliotrope, on caramel, sugar cane, sandalwood, vanilla, tonka and vetiver. Smoke, resin and roasted coffee keep it from feeling heavy.
Skip it if you do not like sweet, boozy scents. Rum and caramel lead.
Oud Wood by Tom Ford
Richard Herpin composed it in 2007. Rosewood, cardamom and pink pepper open it, then smooth, lightly smoky oud with sandalwood and vetiver, on tonka bean, amber and patchouli. The mood is calm and polished, and it suits men and women. Our description calls it an easy first oud.
Skip it if you want a strong, smoky oud. This one is gentle.

Questions people ask
What is a good perfume gift for a man?
It depends on the budget and his taste. Under AED 500, 1 Million is sweet and spicy, and Colognise is fresh citrus. From AED 500 to 1,000, Homme Intense is iris and cedar, and Hacivat is pineapple and oakmoss. From AED 1,000, Oud Wood is a calm oud, and Interlude Man is smoke and incense. Buy the boxed bottle.
How do I choose if I do not know his taste?
Go by the notes. For fresh citrus and herbs, look at Colognise and Hacivat. For warm and spicy, look at 1 Million, Eros Flame and Layton. For smoky or boozy, look at Jazz Club, Black Phantom and Interlude Man. If you are still unsure, message us before you order.
Should I give a boxed bottle or a tester?
Give the boxed bottle. A tester is the same perfume in the brand's own tester box, new, unused and unsprayed, so the perfume matches, but the box is not the retail box. A tester suits buying for yourself. More in tester vs boxed perfume.
Can he return it if he does not like it?
We do not take returns for a change of mind, opened or unopened, so if you are unsure about a scent, message us before you order. If it arrives damaged or is the wrong bottle, message us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo, and we replace it or refund it in full. If it is not genuine, we collect it free and refund every dirham. See the refund policy.
