A floral musk with a deeper, warmer side. Gardenia, orange flower and magnolia open it. Musk, amber and cedarwood follow, on labdanum, vetiver and sandalwood. It is an Eau de Parfum, and our description suggests evenings, cooler weather and dressed up occasions.

Skip it if you want a light, airy floral. The musk and woods give it weight.

Instant Crush by Mancera

Citrus, saffron and ginger open it. Moroccan rose, Egyptian jasmine and amber follow, on sandalwood, oakmoss, vanilla and white musk. Pierre Montale composed it, and it was first shown in 2019 at Esxence, the niche fragrance fair in Milan. It is unisex.

Libre by Yves Saint Laurent

Lavender essence, mandarin and petitgrain open it. Orange blossom and jasmine follow, on musk, vanilla, cedar and ambergris. It sets lavender, traditionally a masculine note, against orange blossom. The AED 500 price is for the 90ml. The 100ml is AED 520.

Skip it if you do not like lavender or orange blossom. They lead the scent.

Miss Dior Parfum (2024) by Dior

Francis Kurkdjian reinterpreted the original 1947 Miss Dior for this one. Apricot, peach and mandarin open it. Wild strawberry and jasmine follow, on patchouli, amberwood, amber, moss and Atlas cedar. It is a Parfum, a richer concentration than an Eau de Parfum. The AED 590 price is for the 50ml. The 80ml is AED 690.

Skip it if you do not like jammy fruit or earthy moss.

Marfa by Memo Paris

It is inspired by the art town of Marfa in West Texas. Mandarin, orange blossom and peach open it. Tuberose absolute, ylang-ylang and agave follow, on vanilla, sandalwood, cedarwood, white musk and tonka bean.

Skip it if you do not like tuberose. It sits at the centre.

N°5 Eau Première by Chanel

A lighter, airier take on the classic N°5 style. Aldehydes, ylang-ylang and neroli open it. Jasmine and rose follow, on vanilla, sandalwood and vetiver. It is an Eau de Parfum, and our description suggests daytime, work, dressed up occasions and spring or autumn.

Skip it if you want a fruity or sweet scent. This is a soft aldehyde floral.
