About Maison Margiela
Belgian designer Martin Margiela founded Maison Margiela (ميزون مارجيلا) in Paris in 1988 with Jenny Meirens. In 1994 the house introduced Replica, a line of garments copied from existing pieces from different places and eras. In 2012 it carried the same idea into perfume, and the fragrances are made with L'Oréal.
How Replica works. Each scent is built around one memory or moment, and the name tells you the mood. Here is how the bottles sort by feel:
- Fresh and clean: Lazy Sunday Morning, soft peony over powdery musk and white woods, and Beach Walk, bergamot and lemon over coconut milk and ylang-ylang.
- Warm and cosy: By the Fireplace, with clove, chestnut, vanilla and guaiac wood, and Coffee Break, a coffee, lavender and milk accord.
- Evening: Jazz Club, inspired by a Brooklyn jazz bar, and Under the Stars, black pepper and cinnamon leaf over labdanum and oud.
- Floral: On a Date, tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom over sandalwood.
