About niche perfume
Niche perfume comes from houses that make perfume their main work, not fashion or make-up. They usually sell through far fewer shops than the big designer brands. The line has blurred, because large groups now own some niche houses. AZ & CO is an online perfume boutique based in the UAE, and we sell below the boutique price.

Choosing for the UAE heat
From April to October, start with citrus, tea and fruit. Wulong Cha by Nishane is bergamot and orange over oolong tea and fig. Erba Pura by Xerjoff is orange and lemon over vanilla and white musk. Hacivat is pineapple and grapefruit over oakmoss and dry woods. These suit the office and daytime.
Choosing for evenings and the cooler months
From November to March, and in cold air-conditioned rooms, richer notes work. Angels' Share by Kilian is cognac, cinnamon and praline. Interlude Man by Amouage is oregano, frankincense and smoky agarwood. Oud for Greatness by Initio is saffron, nutmeg and oud. Strong scents like these need only a spray or two.
Reading the notes
- Fresh: citrus, tea, green leaves and sea notes. Easy in the heat.
- Sweet: vanilla, praline and fruit. Softer by day, fuller at night.
- Deep: oud, incense, leather and amber. Best for evenings.
