About Tom Ford
Tom Ford (توم فورد) launched his first fragrance, Black Orchid, in November 2006. A year later came Private Blend, a more experimental line he called his "own personal scent laboratory". Tom Ford fragrances are made by Estée Lauder, which bought the Tom Ford brand in 2023.
The two lines, in plain words
- Signature: the main line, with Black Orchid and Ombré Leather.
- Private Blend: the experimental line, with Oud Wood, F*cking Fabulous, Rose d'Amalfi, White Suede and Oud Voyager.

Where to start at AZ & CO
Black Orchid is truffle, blackcurrant and gardenia over dark chocolate, patchouli and incense. Oud Wood sets oud wood, rosewood and cardamom over sandalwood, vetiver and tonka. Ombré Leather is cardamom, black leather and jasmine sambac. F*cking Fabulous, first shown at Ford's runway show in September 2017, is clary sage, leather and almond.

What is the difference between Tom Ford Signature and Private Blend?
Signature is the main line, started by Black Orchid in 2006. Private Blend arrived in 2007 as Ford's more experimental line, and it is where Oud Wood and F*cking Fabulous sit.

Which Tom Ford is best for summer in the UAE?
Rose d'Amalfi is the brightest here, with pink pepper, bergamot and mandarin over rose. White Suede is a soft musk with thyme and tea. For a lighter layer, try an all-over body spray such as Noir Extreme. Oud Wood and Black Orchid suit evenings better.
