About Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent (إيف سان لوران) and his partner Pierre Bergé founded the house in Paris in 1961. Five years later Saint Laurent showed Le Smoking, a tuxedo suit for women, and that wardrobe gives some of the perfumes their names. The fragrances are made by YSL Beauté, which belongs to L'Oréal.
The lines, decoded
- Libre: the women's line, built on a contrast of lavender and orange blossom. Libre Intense adds vanilla and tonka, Libre Absolu Platine opens on aldehydes, Libre Berry Crush adds raspberry, and Libre L'Eau Nue is an alcohol-free version with an oil-in-water formula.
- Black Opium: launched in 2014, a coffee and vanilla scent with pink pepper, orange blossom and jasmine.
- Y and MYSLF: the men's side. Y Intense is ginger, sage and lavender over vetiver. Y Iced Cologne is a cold mint scent by Dominique Ropion. MYSLF pairs bergamot and orange blossom with woods and musk.
- Le Vestiaire des Parfums: the couture range, named after signature Saint Laurent garments such as Tuxedo.
