Y Intense by Yves Saint Laurent is an aromatic fougère perfume. It opens with ginger, juniper berries and bergamot, which smell spicy, crisp and a little like gin. Sage, lavender and geranium form the heart and bring a clean, herbal barbershop feel. The base is vetiver, patchouli and cedar, which are dry, woody and earthy. The mood is sharp, tidy and confident. As an Eau de Parfum, it tends to be richer than a light cologne, and with the herbs and woods it suits cooler days, the office and evenings. It is a good pick if you like classic barbershop style scents with a fresh, modern start.
