Babycat Raw Bourbon is a Yves Saint Laurent perfume built on vanilla and suede. It opens with black pepper and pink pepper, then moves into saffron, olibanum and resins. The base is vanilla, suede and cedarwood, where the sweetness turns darker and a little animalic. It comes from Le Vestiaire des Parfums, and the perfumer is Dominique Ropion. His idea was the contrast between the creamy side of vanilla and its leather side. The result is dense and sits close to the skin. As an Eau de Parfum with this much vanilla, resin and spice, it tends to suit autumn and winter, evenings and cold nights. It is a good pick for people who like gourmand scents with an edge, rather than plain sweet ones.
