Ormonde Jayne
Ormonde Jayne is Linda Pilkington's London house. Her first shop opened on Old Bond Street in 2001, and everything is still made in the house's own studio in England. The house says it was the first to use oud oil in a fine fragrance. Every bottle is checked before it ships, with its batch code left readable. If it is not genuine, we collect it free and refund every dirham.

About Ormonde Jayne
Linda Pilkington began with a commission for scented candles from Chanel Fine Jewellery, and named her company after her middle name and the road where she set up her first small workshop. Her first Ormonde Jayne shop opened on Old Bond Street in October 2001; today the London shop is in the Royal Arcade, and everything is made in the house's studio in Kent.
The house has three main collections:
- Signature: the original scents, drawn from Pilkington's travels. Ta'if, Champaca, Osmanthus, Ambre Royal, Ormonde Man and Ormonde Woman are here, the last two using hemlock, a wood note the house added to its palette.
- La Route de la Soie: the Silk Road line, with flowers, herbs and spices from along the old trade route. Levant, Bukhara, Kashmir, Muscat and Babylonia belong here.
- Four Corners of the Earth: a homage to the mix of cultures in London, including Montabaco Intensivo, Nawab of Oudh Intensivo, Sakura and Vetiveria.
Bottles that show the house well: Ta'if, Ormonde Man, Champaca, Levant, Nawab of Oudh Intensivo, Montabaco Intensivo and Ambre Royal.

Does Ormonde Jayne make oud perfumes?
Yes. The house says it was the first perfume house to use oud oil in a fine fragrance. It uses natural Cambodian oud in Nawab of Oudh, and natural oud with an oud accord in Ormonde Man. Oud Liaisons and Muscat are two more ways in.
How do I check an Ormonde Jayne bottle is original?
Check that the batch code printed on the box is the same as the one on the bottle. Look for crisp printing on the box and a cap that fits firmly. Which Ormonde Jayne suits the UAE summer?
Levant is the bright one: peony, orange blossom and jasmine. Vetiveria opens on Sicilian lime, Timur pepper, sage and juniper before mossy vetiver. Champaca is softer, with green tea and basmati rice around the flower.
