Penhaligon's
Penhaligon's goes back to William Henry Penhaligon, a Cornish barber who became court barber and perfumer to Queen Victoria. Today the house makes the Portraits, scents written as characters in an invented upper-class family, and Trade Routes scents such as Halfeti. Part of the range also comes as testers. Every bottle is checked before it ships, with its batch code left readable. If it is not genuine, we collect it free and refund every dirham.

About Penhaligon's
William Henry Penhaligon was a Cornish barber who moved to London and became Court Barber and Perfumer to Queen Victoria. Blenheim Bouquet, the house's longest-surviving bespoke scent, was made in 1902 for the Duke of Marlborough and named after Blenheim Palace.
Three parts of the range explain most of what we stock:
- Portraits: launched in 2016, a fictional upper-class family where every scent is a character. Much Ado About the Duke is the Duke, Changing Constance is Lady Blanche's modern sister, and The Blazing Mister Sam is an American abroad.
- Trade Routes: inspired by the boom in trade through London. Halfeti is one, and AlUla is a tribute to the Incense Route and the AlUla oasis.
- The classics: older scents such as Blenheim Bouquet and Quercus, a 1996 citrus chypre.
Bottles to start with: Halfeti, AlUla, Much Ado About the Duke, Changing Constance, The Blazing Mister Sam, The Bewitching Yasmine and Blenheim Bouquet.
Part of our Penhaligon's range comes as testers. A tester is the same perfume in the brand's own tester box, new, unused and unsprayed. Our tester vs boxed perfume page helps you decide.
What are the Penhaligon's Portraits?
A set of perfumes written as members of one invented English family, first released in 2016. Penhaligon's invites you to peer into the lives and lies of the aristocracy. The Bewitching Yasmine is the rich, smoky one, with coffee, jasmine, vanilla and oud. The Inimitable William Penhaligon is named after the founder himself.
Does AZ & CO sell Penhaligon's testers?
Yes, for part of the range. A tester is marked clearly, either as an option next to the boxed bottle or with Tester in its name. It gets the same checks as a boxed bottle, which you can repeat yourself with our guide on how to check if a perfume is original. Every Penhaligon's we ship keeps its batch code readable, and if it is not genuine we collect it free and refund every dirham.
Which Penhaligon's perfume is best for summer in the UAE?
Go for the citrus scents. Quercus opens on Amalfi lemon, lime, bergamot and mandarin. Blenheim Bouquet is lemon, lime and lavender over pine and black pepper. Solaris is a sunnier floral of neroli, lemon and tiare flower.
