Every bottle on this shelf is listed for men and for women. Many niche houses never split their range by gender at all. Xerjoff has the most, then Profumum Roma, Boadicea the Victorious, Gritti and Ormonde Jayne. Every Unique'e Luxury scent is here too, because the house makes its whole range for everyone.
Fresh picks for hot days and the office
Green, leafy and citrus notes feel cool when it is hot outside, and they are easy to share with a partner.
- Ichnusa by Profumum Roma: a fig tree in full sun, all green leaves and bark, with sharp myrtle and soft hay. Dry rather than sweet.
- Osmanthus by Ormonde Jayne: pomelo and pimento, then osmanthus with its soft apricot tone, jasmine and water lily over cedar and musk.
Warmer picks for evenings
Resin, oud and sweet notes last longer and suit dinners and cooler nights.
- Olibanum by Profumum Roma: frankincense and myrrh over creamy sandalwood, with a hint of orange blossom. Calm, like church incense.
- Mango Aoud by Gritti: mango, guava and neroli on top, coconut and ylang ylang in the heart, then oud, vanilla and amber. Fresh and warm at once.
- Istanbul by Unique'e Luxury: grapes, citrus and tea, then neroli and jasmine, over toffee and vanilla.

If you share a bottle, start with something fresh or woody rather than very sweet or very smoky. Fig, tea, citrus and soft woods please most noses. Strong oud, leather and gourmand scents divide opinion more.
