About Frédéric Malle
Frédéric Malle was born in Paris and started his perfume house, Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, in 2000, launching with nine perfumes. He works as an editor rather than a perfumer. He pairs with a perfumer for each scent, and the perfumer's name is printed on the bottle and box.
Where to start at AZ & CO
- Rose Tonnerre: rose, raspberry, honey and wine lees, then Turkish rose, violet, saffron and orris, over patchouli, musk, vetiver and vanilla. A dense, dark rose.
- Hope: juniper and pink pepper, then oud, vetiver and smoke, over leather and amber.
- Jurassic Flower Perfume Gun: a 450ml room spray with a bright magnolia scent, touched with citrus, peach and apricot. It is for the home, not for skin.
How do I check that a Frédéric Malle bottle is original?
Match the batch code on the box with the one on the bottle. We check every bottle before it ships, and the code stays readable. Our guide on how to check if perfume is original has the steps.
Which Frédéric Malle perfume suits cooler weather?
Rose Tonnerre and Hope. Both lean dark: a deep, spiced rose, and a smoky oud with leather. They tend to suit evenings, autumn and winter.
