About this perfume
Hope opens with juniper and pink pepper, which give a cool, spicy and slightly resinous lift. The heart is oud, vetiver and smoke, dark and dry. Leather and amber close it, so the drydown is warm, dark and enveloping. Hope by Frédéric Malle is an oud perfume composed by Dominique Ropion. The oud is smoky and leathery, but the pepper and juniper keep the start fresh instead of heavy. With these notes, it tends to suit evenings, autumn and winter, and anyone who likes oud with a dry, clean edge. As an Eau de Parfum, it is a serious but wearable choice.
