Dominique Ropion and Claire Liégent's 2021 fougère, built around lavender. Provençal lavender, grapefruit and apple open it fresh and green, geranium absolute, orange blossom absolute and clary sage build an aromatic heart, and cashmeran, patchouli, Haitian vetiver and Virginia cedarwood give the base its dry woody grip.
A modern take on the barbershop idea — clean and sharp on top, warm and woody underneath. Strong performance for a designer.
