Ganymede opens with saffron and mandarin, bright and slightly spicy. Osmanthus, immortelle and violet leaf form the heart, soft, a little dry and faintly floral. The base is mineral notes, suede, akigalawood, musk, cedar and patchouli. It smells cool, smooth and stony, more like a surface than a flower or a fruit. Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois is a distinctive, calm perfume composed by Quentin Bisch. It is named after Jupiter's largest moon, and the cool, mineral feel fits the name. With these notes it tends to suit daytime, the office, cooler weather and evenings. The Extrait de Parfum in 50ml is a richer, spicier take on the same idea, built on incense, myrrh, mandarin, immortelle and akigalawood. Tester: the same fragrance and the same bottle, in the brand's own tester box. New, unused and unsprayed.
