About Montale
Montale describes itself as a French family house and a keeper of oud's old secrets. It has its own boutiques in Paris and Cannes. Oud is the house's main theme, and you can find it in the rose and oud heart of Arabians Tonka and in the cedar and agarwood base of Intense Pepper.
Where to start at AZ & CO
- Arabians Tonka: bergamot and saffron, a heart of rose and oud, then amber, oakmoss, tonka bean, leather, brown sugar and white musk.
- Black Musk: black pepper, nutmeg and saffron, leather in the middle, musk and sandalwood below.
- Dark Purple: plum and orange, then rose, red berries and patchouli, over teak wood, amber and musk.
- Intense Pepper: black pepper and Sicilian lemon, then cedar, agarwood, white musk and oakmoss.

Which of these Montale perfumes have oud?
Arabians Tonka has oud in the heart, with rose. Intense Pepper has agarwood in the base, under black pepper. Black Musk and Dark Purple do not list oud. One is spiced leather and musk, the other plum, rose and patchouli.
