About this perfume
Rien by Etat Libre d'Orange opens with black pepper, a dry saffron and leather accord, and a thread of incense. The heart is more leather, cooled by powdery iris and the resinous warmth of cistus. It settles on earthy patchouli, vetiver and treemoss, the dark green base of a classic chypre. The name means nothing in French, yet this perfume has a strong point of view. It feels dark, dry and a little austere, with smoke and worn leather at its core and no sweetness at all. It suits men and women who love leather and incense, and it sits best in the cooler months and in the evening. It was launched in 2006 and composed by perfumer Antoine Lie.
