About this perfume
Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d'Orange starts green and slightly bitter with galbanum and sage. Jasmine absolute then opens up, given a dry, golden edge by curcuma. The base is warm tonka bean and mate, a tea-like leaf with a toasted, dried-leaf feel. The name sets up jasmine and a cigarette side by side, and the notes build that picture without real smoke: dry leaf, soft spice and gentle sweetness around a white flower. The result is a floral perfume with attitude, less pretty than most jasmines and more personal. It tends to suit women who find classic florals too polite, and it feels most at home on cool evenings. It was launched in 2006 and created by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu.
