Black Saffron opens with juniper berries and pomelo, which give a cool, zesty lift. Kashmiri saffron follows, warm and a little golden. The heart brings black violet, cristal rose and a leather accord. The base is blonde woods, raspberry and vetiver, so it ends earthy, woody and a touch fruity. Black Saffron by Byredo is a bold, unisex perfume with a dark, smooth mood. The saffron and leather give it some edge, and the violet and rose soften it.
